A MAN has been charged with manslaughter over the death of chef Michael Rogers.

Logan Usher, 23, pictured, appeared at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday as his case was sent to Oxford Crown Court.

Usher, of Croxford Gardens, Kidlington, was charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of promising chef Mr Rogers, who died on August 25, 2011.

Mr Rogers, 31, was left with severe injuries after he was punched twice at the Red Lion pub in Kidlington in June 2010.

His life support machine was turned off 14 months after the incident and he died on August 25.

Chairman of the magistrates David Charlton said: “We have heard this matter is heard only in crown court not magistrates’ court because of the serious nature of the offences.

“Today we are sending you to Oxford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on April 15.”

Usher was released on conditional bail and is due at Oxford Crown Court on Monday.
