RAIDERS stole cigarettes and tried to take cash from the Co-op store in Benson today.
A member of the public alerted police at 1.13am after spotting a group of men acting suspiciously inside.
They forced open the door of the High Street store to get inside.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Craig Evry said an unsuccessful attempt had been made to take cash.
The vehicle, details of which have not been released, was recovered later in woodland nearby and is being examined by police.
Nobody has been arrested.
The store was closed this morning and is due to re-open later today.
Anyone who saw the incident or has information is asked to call police on 101.
