MY word, I agree with T Siret again: yes the NHS is “ours”. That means mine as well as his.

“Ours” also includes elected MPs who believe that the NHS needs to change and have voted in Parliament to do so. In an unbelievably complex organisation these changes, in simple terms, will now give “our” GPs a far greater say in how and where the best health care for any individual should be provided.

I also agree that it is essential that great scrutiny is needed to ensure that there are no “conflicts of interest”. On a more local note I would have no hesitation or concern should my GP refer me, for example, to the private Manor Hospital, if that is where the best treatment could be provided.

I say this as I, and members of my family, have, in the past, been afforded the highest standards of care at this excellent hospital.
