CHRISTMAS is going to be extra special for an Oxford family after their grandmother won more than £100,000 playing bingo.
The 72-year-old, mother to six and grandmother to nine, won the National Bingo Game prize at Gala Bingo, in the Ozone Leisure Park, on Wednesday.
She also picked up the regional prize of £1,044 and house prize of £130.
The woman, who has asked not to be named, completed a 'full house' in 40 numbers, the lowest call in 500 clubs nationwide.
She said: "I had been told at a Spiritualist church I was going to have three wins and one would be big.
"I had won £100 and then £10 before winning the National Game."
She added that after treating her family, she would bank the rest and 'spend it when I want to, probably at bingo!'.
Another woman also won £15,000 at Oxford Gala. A 44-year-old retail manager with a son and daughter, she plans to use the money for her honeymoon next year.
