An alleged murderer told his co-accused to "shut up" in front of police as Guy Thomas, lay on his sofa with a head wound, a jury was told yesterday.
Pcs Rebecca Burley and Anthony Kirby were called to Mr Thomas's flat in Pound Way, Cowley, on Thursday, February 9, to find Sara Kingston and Peter Rous there, Oxford Crown Court heard.
Rous, 32 of Pegasus Road, Blackbird Leys, and Kingston, 33, of Foresters Tower, Wood Farm, have denied murdering Mr Thomas and are standing trial. As previously reported, Mr Thomas was found dead in his flat on the morning of Friday, February 10. Thomas and Kingston are accused of beating him.
Pc Burley said: "He (Rous) was very uncooperative. When the lady that was there (Kingston) started trying to speak to me he told her to ****ing shut up. His most strange behaviour was he picked up the broken glass on the table and cut himself with it across his right jaw."
Pc Burley said Kingston also had bloodstained clothing and was crying hysterically as Rous watched the television.
She said: "Rous said 'I knew I'd get the blame for this, I knew I'd get the blame'.
The trial continues.
