AN EXTRAORDINARY choir will today aim to prove that you don’t need to hear Christmas carols to enjoy them.
Around a dozen members of the Oxford Hard of Hearing Group have been rehearsing for an unusual concert.
They have been practising carol signing, instead of singing, along with such festive favourites as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, O Little Town of Bethlehem and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Today the group, featuring children to pensioners, will perform outside Sainsbury’s at the Westgate Shopping Centre.
They will be raising money for the Oxford Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre.
Conductor, British Sign Language interpreter Judith Scholes, said: “Everyone has been enjoying practising.
“People who have hearing loss can end up very isolated and the centre tries to work with them to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
The performance takes place between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
