A TEAM of eco warriors have been making changes to how their school is run, to help save the planet.
And now pupils at Fritwell Primary School, Fritwell, near Bicester, have been rewarded for their work by getting the Green Flag Eco Schools Award.
The flag is given to schools who get behind environment-friendly projects.
Teacher Adam Sear said an eco committee completed an environmental review of the school, which covered topics such as energy, healthy living, litter, transport, water and biodiversity.
Then pupils prepared an action plan to make changes within the school.
These included composting food waste, a water-saving awareness campaign including a film made by Year Four students, and writing up a new litter policy.
Mr Sear said: “Gaining the Green Flag has inspired all of us to carry on with the work we have been doing, and become even greener in the future.”
