TESCO staff have cycled to Lapland – without moving from the front of their Bicester store.
The supermarket chain asked all their staff to jump on exercise bikes last weekend to raise money for Cancer Research.
For the Christmas-themed ride they had to cover the distance from the shop to Lapland – 6,390km – over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
And they did it with time to spare, raising more than £3,000 for their chosen charity.
A couple of the firm’s area managers even turned up to race the store manager and shoppers were also encouraged to get in on the action.
Store personnel manager Lisa Tofte said: “In the summer the company organised a cycle which covered the distance to the moon and it was such a success they wanted to do something like it again.
“It’s been brilliant, the customers have been so generous.”
