ANOTHER picture of the good work schoolchildren did in the community has come to light.

We told (Memory Lane, October 29) how pupils at Peers School, Littlemore, helped elderly and disabled people with decorating, gardening and shopping.

Teams would go out as part of a project to forge closer links with their neighbours.

The picture shows Bradley Grime helping Eva Symonds in her garden in Champion Way, Littlemore, in 1984.

He said: “I really enjoy it. It’s a worthwhile thing to do.”

Peers was one of 11 schools taking part in Oxfordshire Education Authority’s ‘New Learning Initiative’.
