Workers at an Oxfordshire business park were given a few tips from an expert on how not to motivate their staff.
The staff at Milton Park near Didcot, watched dumbstruck as Ricky Gervais lookalike Tim Oliver started the infamous dance routine first performed by inept sales manager David Brent in the TV series, The Office.
But there was a serious side to the buffoonery - "Brent" had been hired by the local Business Link to promote a new book, Motivating Your for Better Performance, by Brian Brown.
Business Link spokesman Jo Love said: "We hope the book will help local businesses in the development of their staff and saw David Brent as the ideal partner to demonstrate how some of the techniques mentioned should, or should not, be delivered."
The guide shows bosses how to nurture and develop staff to deliver performance beyond expectations.
Topics include how to build trust and motivate people, how to use delegation and empowerment effectively, how to give feedback and how to handle conflict.
