VILLAGERS are being encouraged to tell the police what they feel needs tackling in their communities to make them feel safer.
Public meetings are planned, covering an area from Wytham, down to Abingdon.
Chief Inspector David Purnell, the local police area commander for Abingdon, said: "If you live in any of these areas, please come to the meetings so you can have a say in what the priorities should be for police and partner agencies."
The meetings are part of the new approach to community safety called Neighbourhood Policing.
Earlier this year Neighbourhood Action Groups were set up in Abingdon and communities south of the town.
Villages included in the neighbourhood are Radley, Kennington, South Hinksey, North Hinksey, Wytham, Cumnor, Wootton, Sunningwell, St Helen Without, Besselsleigh, Appleton with Eaton and Marcham. An exhibition unit has been travelling the area and residents are being encouraged to fill out a survey.
- The meetings will be held at Marcham Primary School on Thursday; Matthew Arnold School, Cumnor, on November 20; Wootton Commmunity Centre on November 21, and Kennington Village Centre on November 22. All meetings will start at 7pm.
