IT WAS Hallowe’en night recently. We are elderly people. We put a polite notice on our door to say no Halloween to call.
Well, about 7pm we had apples thrown on to our glass front door. It made a very loud bang. I telephoned 101 non-emergency police just to let them know about the trouble.
I was told it would be for the best to take the notice off the door as that aggravates the children and we should turn off the lights and sit in the dark.
What was the point of giving elderly people notices to put on their doors, then telling them to take them down and sit in the dark?
