POLICE are appealing for information following a series of paintball attacks in the Upper Basildon area The most recent occurred in Wakemans Copse on Monday, when paintballs were fired at houses. This is believed to be linked to seven attacks in the same area.
On the previous Thursday, paintballs were fired at a 31-year-old woman, a 13-year-old boy and the windows of a house. On Tuesday 17 October paintballs were fired at a 16-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a number of properties.
PC Matthew Allen, based at Pangbourne police station, said: "The use of paintball guns without the proper safety equipment is very dangerous and could lead to serious injury. Luckily the victims have only received minor injuries, but I want to make sure that nothing more serious happens.
"So I would appeal to anyone that knows of someone in the area with a paintball gun to get in touch. I would especially appeal to parents to get in touch if their child has recently acquired a paintball gun."
- A 15-year-old boy, two 17-year-old boys and a 20-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incidents.
