A CITY trader has got crêpe expectations after winning his bid to sell French pancakes in Broad Street for the next year.
Akim Akkouche, 48, was granted a full 12-month licence for his Crêpes-O-Mania van, which has already proved popular since he started with a temporary licence in June.
He sells savoury and sweet crêpes from the van outside Blackwell’s Music every day until 6pm, when he swaps with a kebab van which trades into the night.
Mr Akkouche, originally from Brittany, France, said he was delighted with the decision made by the city council’s licensing and registration sub-committee last week. He said: “It’s fantastic. I had great hopes because I had worked very closely with the council on my application.”
