A PENSIONER was lucky not to have made a splash after her car crashed through a garden fence and landed in a swimming pool.
The 83-year-old’s red Vauxhall Corsa crashed through a garden fence in Foxborough Road, Radley, yesterday morning, and into the empty pool.
The garden belonged to doctor Denisa Wilkes, who was inside the house with her husband Nicholas and their six-year-old daughter Juliana when the accident happened at around 10.40am.
Dr Wilkes, 32, said: “I heard a knock so I looked out the window and all I could see was this red car in my swimming pool.
“She was just sitting there completely unscathed, I said ‘are you OK?’ and she said ‘yes, I am fine’.
“It must have been very slow-motion, five miles per hour or something because she just fell in vertically.
“It is not what you expect on a Wednesday morning.”
Juliana said: “I was inside watching telly, and dad told me to look out the window.
“I saw the ambulance and police cars and fire engines and a car in my swimming pool.”
PC Kevin Crick said: “An 83-year-old female escaped from the vehicle unharmed and was taken home by Oxfordshire ambulance safe and well.”
