Wantage MP Ed Vaizey has condemned the break-in at Didcot power station by Greenpeace protesters.
Thirty protesters invaded Didcot's coal-fired Didcot A station this morning in a bid to shut it down.
Didcot power station is in Mr Vaizey's constituency and he said: "The Greenpeace protest is absurd and illustrates yet again how they never check their facts.
"Didcot power station has made huge strides in reaching its carbon reduction targets including an ash reprocessing plant and a biofuels plant that I opened only two weeks ago.
"We will only make progress on climate change if we work with existing suppliers and put forward realistic goals.
"This stunt by Greenpeace does nothing to combat climate change and simply muddles and confuses the debate."
