A WHEATLEY schoolgirl will be keeping up with her pals — thanks to a new wheelchair.
Aarohi Agashe, nine, a pupil at Windmill Primary School in Headington, has cerebral palsy and depends on a wheelchair to get around.
But she isn’t strong enough to propel a wheelchair herself and has had to rely on friends, family and school staff to push her where she wanted to go.
Her family applied to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children for help and now, thanks to a £1,000 contribution from the Bartle Family Trust, £250 from donors, plus £7,601 support from Newlife, Aarohi will now use a new £8,851 powered wheelchair.
Aarohi’s mum, Suranjana Guha, said: “Aarohi is extremely bright and wants to do the same things as her friends, but unfortunately can not make her body keep up.
“She can now do the sort of things most of us take for granted.”
