A woman who lives near Bicester has praised people in Oxfordshire for helping the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.
Laura Merry, 24, of Worminghall, was speaking as preparations gather pace for the Spirit of Christmas concert at Christ Church cathedral in Oxford.
She said: “I have never let having muscular dystrophy hold me back.
“In terms of tackling muscle-wasting conditions, people in Oxfordshire have made a really special contribution.
“Some of the most ground-breaking research is taking place at Oxford University.
“It is so important to the next generation of children born with muscular dystrophy that there is the funding for these projects to continue.”
Robert Meadowcroft, chief executive of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, said: “The people of Oxfordshire have long made a stand out contribution to our work.”
The concert takes place on Wednesday, December 5 at 8pm. For tickets, priced between £10 and £40, visit muscular-dystrophy.org
