MOTORISTS alerted paramedics to a driver who collapsed when they saw his car had come to a complete stop in Yarnton today.
Police have just released further details about the man's death, saying they were contacted at 12.45pm and told of reports of a car not moving on the A44 and that the driver had collapsed.
Paramedics were told by passers by the driver appeared to be unconscious and not to be breathing.
The man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
He has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be from Oxfordshire.
Long queues were reported in the area as police and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
Initial reports had put the incident as being on the A40, not the A44.
