Toyota's new Auris, a three or five-door hatchback, will have a pivotal role in advancing its brand ambitions in Europe.
The Auris is both designed and built in Europe, and will join the supermini Yaris and family-car Avensis ranges in spearheading Toyota's bid to achieve 1.2 million annual sales in Europe by 2008.
It will be launched here in Britain next February, taking such as the Ford Focus head-on with two petrol and three diesel engines.
