BANBURY'S supercar maker Ascari has rolled out the road-going 625 horsepower A10, a street legal car that can hit 60mph in just 2.8 seconds, and go on to 100mph in less than six seconds.
The British manufacturer has priced the 5.0-litre, V8-engined A10 at £350,000 - a 'bargain' against supercar rivals such as the £1.5m Ferrari Enzo FXX, which is not road legal. The A10, which was designed, engineered and hand built in Banbury, weighs in at about 1,200kg, thanks to its lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork, and the firm claims it is more than just a revamped version of its earlier supercar, the £235,000 KZ1.
Ascari says it has new body panels, a reworked engine and suspension, with extensive brake modifications to cope with the extra power.
Lucky owners will also benefit, if they wish, from some luxuries such as remote central locking, electric windows and door mirrors, climate control and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm system.
The A10 can certainly claim exclusivity - only ten will be built to order.
