ROAST beef and Yorkshire pudding was on the menu when 130 elderly people enjoyed their annual party in the village hall in 1990.
The meal was paid for partly from the funds of the village Friendly Association, with the balance raised by regulars at the Kings Arms pub.
The village was involved in a dispute with a local landowner in 1958 over use of an access road to the North Star inn.
Villagers claimed it was a right of way, but the landowner argued it was private property.
Residents were armed with a petition which they planned to hand to Berkshire County Council.
Three young members of the choir at the parish church gained chorister awards from the Royal School of Church Music in 1984.
They were Andrea Leahy, her sister Julia and Zoe Howard.
