Pete Foley resigned as Ardley United manager after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Hellenic lweAguePremier Division strugglers Harrow Hill, duringwhich his son Tom was sent off.
The Oxford United legend, who has also managed Didcot Town, Oxford City, Marlow and Brackley Town, said that after 20 years in management, spend more time with his family.
He said: "I was disappointed on Saturday, but I just felt I'd taken the players as far as I could."
Ardley have appointed Dan Still, who was assistant to Foley until he quit a month ago, as the new manager.
