Sir – On Thursday and Friday, October 25-26, Dutch students of de Rooi Pannen in Tilburg, the Netherlands, will visit Oxford to work on their English language skills.
De Rooi Pannen is a vocational school and educates students in marketing, communication and event organisation. In the school curriculum, it is obliged to do some research abroad. After Lille (France) and Dusseldorf (Germany), our students have chosen Oxford as their British destination.
The marketing students have made a questionnaire, communication students have been made responsible for promoting the whole trip and the students in event organisation have organised transportation, accommodation and several cultural excursions. In this way the students work on their vocational training and practise their English fluency as well.
The students hope the Oxford inhabitants will help them conduct their research, so they will have a chance to use some actual English.
J. Bouman, Tilburg, The Netherlands
