A terribly sad day and of course beyond for Mike, for all Kate’s family, and for her friends, many of whom knew her through her career within the Cochrane Collaboration. Gone from us and sorely missed: her friendly way, her sense of humour, her hardworking nature. Rest in peace, Kate. It’s been a pleasure to have known you. Jini.

I met Kate a number of years ago at the bus stop in Roosevelt Drive Old Road Campus and our friendship continued over many years, not with work but with Caipirinha evenings and when Las Iguanas closed we moved on to wine cafes. It was a friendship discussing holidays, interests and generally putting the world to rights. I will miss her infectious smile, she was one very special lady, I will miss her more than she could ever imagine.

I worked at Cochrane at the same time as Kate and met her several times over the years. I have very fond memories of her, and a huge amount of respect for her both professionally and personally. She was always kind, warm and generous with both her time and her knowledge. I feel honoured to have known her and she will be sadly missed.
