* Southeast Asian restaurant group Banana Tree is opening in Oxford’s George Street soon.
The Indo Chinese restaurant offers an authentic selection of dishes and specialties from the Indochina region, the lemongrass growing countries of South East Asia that include Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the peninsula of Malaysia and Singapore.
Banana Tree was voted in the top 10 best London restaurants by Urbanspoon and was the winner of R200’s Best Value Restaurant Chain 2012.
* New Italian restaurant and deli Buongiorno e Buonasera opened last week at 102 Gloucester Green sin Oxford erving amazing pizzas and delicious Italian ingredients.
Sweet and savoury pizzas jostle with paninis, bruschette, gourmet salads, cured meats and cheeses, brioches, tarts, cakes and many others Italian temptations as well as hot drinks, fresh juices, smoothies and soft drinks.
And to prepare amazing meals on your own you will find a wide variety of high quality Italian specialist ingredients in its minimarket.
* Wilderness Festival’s culinary news keeps on improving, having announced an impressive hotly-contested and hand-picked street food selection including traders such as Arancina, Bob’s Lobster, Croquetas Vigar, Crosta & Mollica, Dorshi Catering, French & Grace, Haggis Haggis, Le Swine, Sanderson’s Puddings, Shoryu Ramen, The Cheese Truck, Thoroughly Wild Meat Co, Vinn Goute and Where The Pancakes Are, to name but a few.
Chefs for The Wilderness Long Table Banquet, above, include Angela Hartnett, chef patron of Murano, Niklas Ekstedt, an internationally renowned chef with a CV that includes The Fat Duck, El Bulli and now his Stockholm restaurant EKSTEDT, and the incomparable Raymond Blanc.
