Few artists have such a fanatical following as Gary Numan.
With a distinctive style, deeply rooted in the hard-edged electro sound of the late 70s, and early 80s, Numan has been a huge influence on all manner of bands, from Prodigy and Marilyn Manson, to Basement Jaxx and the Sugababes.
Even Vince Noir, of cult comedy act The Mighty Boosh is a fan. He says: "The thing about Gary Numan is, not only is he a pop star, but he's got a pilot's licence. Imagine that."
On Sunday, Numan's entourage many of whom faithfully follow the great man around the country roll up at Oxford Brookes University for their hero's show at the student union. Expect anthemic tunes, towering synths, steroidal beats, and a taste of new album Jagged.
Tickets are £16 in advance. Doors open at 7pm.
