A VILLAGE May Festival will raise money for its school and church.
Cropredy's first-ever MayFest on Sunday, May 7, will be a day of music, dance, and activities for all the family.
The programme will include stalls selling quality crafts, maypole and Morris dancing, children's face-painting, a bouncy castle, a beer tent with a variety of local and regional ales, Sunday lunches, and teas with home-made cakes.
Strolling players will entertain the crowds with a traditional Robin Hood play.
Lichfield Diocesan Mobile Belfry or mini-ring' will demonstrate how church bells work and visitors to the event can 'have-a-ring' themselves.
The festival will raise money for Cropredy School Foundation Unit and the Church Bell Restoration Appeal.
Organiser Jenny Ballinger said: "Cropredy is a vibrant village with a strong community and the MayFest is designed to reflect that.
"There will be something to entertain all ages, and if this year is successful we hope to make it an annual event, attracting visitors from across the region.
"As people may already have plans for the Bank holiday weekend, we are holding the MayFest on the following Sunday, so as many as possible will be able to attend."
The event, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, will take place in the canalside meadow next to the Old Coal Wharf. Free parking will be available, and entry will be by voluntary donation.
