CHIPPING Norton's 400th anniversary celebrations kick off tomorrow with a spectacular promenade play that explores the town's history.
The play, Unlawful Assembly, looks at the people, the places, the past, and the future of the town.
Following an opening scene at The Theatre, the audience will enjoy a visual feast that will take them back in time down the winding streets to Chipping Norton's ancient church, up to the town hall, and then back to The Theatre for an unforgettable finale.
Unlawful Assembly is directed by Dr Jonathan Holmes, a lecturer at the Royal Holloway University.
His work includes the John Donne Celebration at St Paul's Cathedral, Wolfsong at the Edinburgh Festival, and So Far So Good in Birmingham's canal area.
With performances tomorrow at 7pm and on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7pm, the streets of Chipping Norton will be transformed into a massive stage arena, mixing past and present, fact and fantasy.
There will be larger-than-life characters and stunning special effects, fire juggling, magic, music, and mayhem.
Tickets are £6, concessions £3, youth theatre members £1. The Theatre's box office is on 01608 642350.
