TOP group ColvinQuarmby will be the next guests at Banbury's Ride a Cock Horse Folk Club and a surprise birthday party could make the evening, next Wednesday, a session to remember.
Heading up the group is Gerry Colvin, who has been described at one of the best songwriters this side of anywhere.
He honed his talent working with Alison Moyet and spent time in Nashville as a professional writer.
Colvin has teamed up with bassist Nick Quarmby, guitarist John Harris, and the former Dockery Boys, to form a group which performs songs from rock to ballads.
Club organiser Derek Droscher said: "The night will show that Gerry is a true, if somewhat zany, star.
"And there might be a special birthday celebration as well."
The club meets at The Mill, Banbury, and the music starts at 8.30pm.
