THE only surprise about Bowling for Soup, the pop-punk band from Texas currently touring the UK, is they continue to find new depths for their potty humour.
BFS, who played a sold-out show at Oxford’s O2 Academy on their last tour, have a new album out with the highlight being the single My Wena.
Wena, for the uninitiated, is a word more commonly used Stateside than here to describe the male member.
Cleverly the BFS gang try to paint it that Wena is in fact a girlfriend but it is laden with what some will say is just base innuendo.
But that’s what their fans like. And it is a catchy tune that will bring a smile to your face.
The album is not one of their best but it is not poor either.
The other highlight is the track Me With No You, right up there with most of the BFS ballads.
BFS are not playing Oxford this time out. The closest they come is October 22 at Birmingham Academy, Leicester’s Demontfort Hall two days later and London’s Roundhouse on October 29.
