THE REST of the country may have realised that the festival season is over, but they seem to have forgotten to tell those fun-loving folks at Truck.

The guys who brought you the Truck and Wood festivals this summer, are set to launch their latest grin-worthy venture – Ox4.

Featuring almost 30 bands over 10 venues, this one-day spectacular takes place, as its name suggests, in East Oxford – namely, a mile-long stretch of Cowley Road.

Think of it as an all-day version of the Oxford Punt, but boasting out-of-towners as well as local talent, and you’ll get the drift.

And with the likes of The Big Pink, Dalek, Jonquil, This Town Needs Guns, and Danny & the Champions of the World, above, sharing a bill with Amazing Baby, Mr Shaodow, the Original rabbit Foot Spasm Band, below, and Jali Fily Cissokho, I think you’ll agree it promises to be an eclectic day.

The fun takes place on Saturday, October 10, across venues ranging from the 02 Academy and The Brickworks, to the East Oxford Community Centre and Café Tarifa.

Oh, and it’s not just music. The line-up also boasts comedy, a Hammer & Tongue open mic session, poetry and workshops.
