BRACE yourself...

Sheffield-based five-piece Laruso are on their way.

The eclectic rock newcomers are set to take the city by storm when they support the mighty Fightstar at the Oxford O2 Academy on Wednesday.

The band come armed with their full-length release A Classic Case Of Cause And Effect (Autonomy Music)- released this week.

Influenced by acts as varied as Deftones, Faith No more, Taking Back Sunday, Meshuggah and Alice In Chains – Laruso’s resulting sound is like no other. Recorded and written in 2008, the 12-track collection album showcases these talented musicians' ability to fuse beauty with the beast - combining delicate melody and sensitive dynamics with hard-hitting instrumentals and shuddering, epic power.

As a quirky touch, the release features the vocal talents of Liv's own seven-year old son, adding a personal touch to Control Is A Technicality, and an unexpectedly dark-side of 70s crooner Tony Christie on Heresy.
