"My father made his stead defying the expected and accepted way of things," says John Carter Cash - executive producer of the Academy Award winning film 'Walk The Line'.
"He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, the CD touches on undiscovered ground.
"My father was about staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking music."
The album carries the blessing of the custodians of Johnny Cash's incredible legacy. The original recordings came licensed from the legendary Sun Records - the same label that gave us such luminaries as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison. The songs were recorded between 1956-1959 with Cash's first band the Tennessee Two, featuring guitar, light percussion and Cash's unmistakable vocals.
'Johnny Cash Remixed' is also available as a limited edition CD/DVD package, including a documentary DVD about the making of the album - with Snoop Dogg recording vocals at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
