Towering legend of rock & roll, Jerry Lee Lewis, is back on the road – a full five decades since kicking off his career.

Lewis, a founding father of rock & roll (and, consequently, everything that followed) headlines the opening night of the London Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival, at the Forum, Kentish Town, on Tuesday.

The night, which also features Lewis’s Killer Band, his sister Linda Gail Lewis, Darrell Higham and The Enforcers, also boasts a support set by another great - ‘Queen of rockabilly’ Wanda Jackson, who will be flying in from Oklahoma especially, alongside Wes McGhee & The London Party-Timers.

The show offers fans of rock a rare chance to see Lewis – aka ‘The Killer’ – who remains one of the most iconic, influential and controversial musicians to have walked the earth.

The Louisiana-born septuagenarian was a pioneer of piano rock and brought boogie-woogie to a broad audience.

Fans at Tuesday’s gig can expect such classics as Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, Great Balls of Fire, Another Place, Another Time and To Make Love Sweeter For You.

Tickets are £49 for dancing tickets (stalls) and £69 seating (balcony).

If you miss this, or are hungry for more, check out next Saturday’s follow-up gig, featuring Jack Scott, Crazy Cavan and New Orleans rock’n’roller Frankie ‘Sea Cruise’ Ford.

Support comes from Diz & the Doormen. Tickets are £29 (stalls) or £39 (seating).

A third event, headlined by another great of rock, Little Richard, has been postponed to a date to be announced, after the 73 year-old star fell ill before a hip replacement. He will, we are reliably informed, be back in the New Year though.

Something to look forward to!
