Direct, brutal, no holds barred, synth-twisting, ear-shredding, frenzied nutters.

Fight Like Apes are not for the sensitive listener. They do, as the advert says, exactly what it says on the tin. They scrap hard and they scrap dirty. But without the bananas. And with slightly shorter arms.

Hailing from Dublin, Fight Like Apes kick out in a synth-packed explosion of loutish vocals, brutal bass and digital distortion. As those brave enough to catch them at the Jericho Tavern tomorrow will discover.

They formed in 2006 from the remnants of various dodgy bands, with an avowed intention to scare audiences with "poppy songs played so obnoxiously that everybody leaves".

Making waves with EPs How Am I Supposed To Kill You If You Have All The Guns, Jake Summers and David Carradine Is A Bounty Hunter Whose Robotic Arm Hates Your Crotch (yes, really!), they kicked off with their debut album earlier this year.

Come and find out what you're missing. If you don't come, chances are they'll find you!

Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door.

The night is presented by Coo Coo Club, which follows up on Monday by staging the utterly different, and outrageously talented Icelandic musician Olafur Arnalds in the serene setting of Oxford's Holywell Music Room.

Olafur creates a world of delicate symphonic compositions and has opened for Sigur Ros.

Support comes from Finn and Oxford's very own Richard Walters. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 in advance from wegottickets.com
