Twenty years ago, a group of singers from Philadelphia got together and formed a group.
They went on to sell 60 million records worldwide and won eight Grammy awards, becoming the most successful R&B group ever.
They went by the name Boyz II Men.
The initial quintet become a quartet, and scored five Number One hits on the legendary Motown Records label - with three of them: End of the Road, I'll Make Love to You, and One Sweet Day (a duet with Mariah Carey), breaking the record for the longest time at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
After some well-earned time-out, they are back.
Now a trim threesome, Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman have a new album of Motown classics and an acappella version of that worldwide hit End Of The Road. They are also on the road, bringing their distinctive vocal harmonies on a tour which next Saturday rolls up at Oxford's New Theatre.
Nathan tells the Guide, life has never been better for the older, wiser, but just as smooth, Boyz.
How are you all?
Not too bad. We're resting at the mo having done a few of the UK dates. We're in London again in a few days so are just chilling and trying to prepare for that.
What have you been doing lately?
Too much to mention! We released the Motown album in November, then had the accappela version of End of the Road released in February, and then this month we started the UK tour. The past few months have been hectic but that's what keeps us going.
We haven't seen you for a while... where did you go?
We have been focusing on our own lives, spending time with our families. We also have business ventures we are pursuing, so have had that to concentrate on.
Why the comeback?
We just had to get out there again and show the fans that we are still around - and are still working hard to please them.
How does it feel being back on the road?
We love just seeing the audience react and sing along to the songs. It's an amazing feeling to know that, although we have been away, we have not been forgotten.
Life on tour must be pretty rock&roll?
We are well behaved on tour. We leave all the rock&roll behaviour for the young new artists.
Are you still mobbed by girls?
Yeah, most definitely!
Do you enjoy it?
Hahaha! What man would complain?
Do you even attempt to keep them away?
We try to!
What do you enjoy doing when not playing?
Spending time with our families is a big part of what we all enjoy. They have been there from the start showing us love and supporting us.
Did you ever think you'd get so big?
Well from a young age this was our dream, but at the time you don't really think your dream can come true. When we won all the Grammys we realised how successful we were becoming. It's crazy the way things turn out. It seems surreal sometimes.
How do you deal with fame?
At the start we were excited and wanted to get involved in the industry, so to have all that attention was amazing. But then after a while you kinda want things to return to normal. Fame can get you in trouble.
What has been the best moment of your careers so far?
Probably winning the eight Grammys, and getting to work with artists like Mariah.
And the worst?
Every bad experience we had was a lesson learnt.
Your songs are pretty romantic. You seem a smooth bunch of guys?
Yes, we don't just talk the talk, we also walk the walk.
Tell us a secret?
Not a lot of people know that we like reading. We read a lot from novels to inspirational books. Especially like the business and entrepreneurial side of things.
How do you feel about finally coming to Oxford?
This will be our first time in Oxford so we plan to give the fans a show to remember. Hopefully we will be doing many more shows there in the near future. If they will have us back!
Boys II Men play the New Theatre on Saturday March 29. Tickets are £29.50
