WEST Oxfordshire singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti is to headline a music festival just a stone’s throw from his home.
The star will top the bill at Cornbury Festival, held at Great Tew Park, close to his Cotswold home, near Chipping Norton.
Savoretti played the festival as a rising star in earlier years and has spoken of being just 'a few fields away' from the Great Tew Estate.
Today’s announcement also revealed The Waterboys would be returning to Cornbury
The band, famous for anthems Fisherman’s Blues and Whole of the Moon, are no strangers to Oxfordshire, having also played the New Theatre in Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Cropredy Festival on successive occasions.
Also returning are party band Kid Creole & the Coconuts. They join previously announced Friday co-headliners Van Morrison and Dido.
“We’ve always worked with the best songwriters and performers at Cornbury and we’ve certainly landed them this year,” says promoter Hugh Phillimore.
