BOMBAY Bicycle Club and The Kooks are among the bands expected to play this year’s Truck Festival.

Organisers of the three-day rock music event, at Hill Farm in Steventon, ‘teased’ a handful of big acts for this summer’s festival by printing out their names on slips of paper and hiding them inside Chinese fortune cookies which were sent to music industry insiders, a selection of festival-goers and the Oxford Mail.

Names revealed inside the crackers also include Blossoms, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Sundara Karma and Shame.

One Twitter user posted a picture of a cookie containing the name of Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys, though organisers have ruled them out, dismissing it as an optimistic fake.

They have not yet confirmed any other names, insisting punters will have to wait until this Thursday evenings's formal line-up announcement.

The stunt followed last year's band announcements, which were written on potatoes, posted out to music fans and news outlets.

Oxford Mail:

Last year's event featured Oxford band Foals, along with Public Service Broadcasting, Two Door Cinema Club and Lewis Capaldi.
