THE number of people signing on the dole in Oxfordshire is rising at its steepest rate for more than a year.
According to the Office of National Statistics, 7,931 people claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance in February, a rise of 405 on the previous month. It is the biggest increase in the county’s claimant count since last January. The figure has risen for the second month in a row with 745 more people claiming benefit since Janurary.
