ENTERPRISING office workers Sarah Green and Judith Coles stand to win up to £1m in royalties from their innovation.
The pair, who both work in the customer services depatment of educational software firm RM at Milton Park, won the company’s annual entrepreneur competition for an idea set to save primary schools time and money.
Their product, SimplyWorks, allows up to ten youngsters to access one computer program from terminals at their desks rather than having to load it on their machines individually.
Ms Green, 37, from Didcot, said: “It is our job to talk to customers all the time and we listen to and learn from them. It was through doing this that we identified a gap in the market.”
They entered the competition last February and won several stages including a Dragons’ Den-style interview with chief executive Terry Sweeney.
Their prize is a ten per cent share of the concept’s profits with a value of up to £1m.
* RM SimplyWorks will be launched at BETT 2011 at London’s Olympia from January 12-15.
