THE number of people claiming Jobseekers' Allowance fell by 103 last month to 7,255. The percentage of the working population in Oxfordshire claiming the benefit remained the same at 1.7 per cent, according to The Office for National Statistics.
However, the total is still well above its pre-recession level of 5,086 in November 2008. Nationally, the wider measure of unemployment increased by 35,000 and the number of young people out of work reached near-record levels.
