Profits at Oxford-based electronics and maintenance products supplier Electrocomponents have more than doubled, latest figures have revealed.
The company, based at the Oxford Business Park, recorded a pre-tax profit of £50.5m for the six months to September 30, compared to £24.8m for the same period last year.
Ian Mason, managing director of the firm which employs 90 staff in Oxford, said: “There is a lot of product design going on around the world and a general economic recovery in the markets we serve.
“Sales fell during the recession but we kept investing and that is now really paying dividends.”
Mr Mason added that 48 per cent of the firm’s global business was now conducted through e-commerce.
