Bosses at Harwell environment consultancy AEA Technology say the election of US President Barack Obama has provided a major shot in the arm for the company.
President Obama has pledged to adopt a greener approach and AEA is set to benefit directly after last year buying Washington-based data management firm Project Performance Corporation which has clients including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and the US Patent and Trademark Office.
In a statement AEA said: “President Obama’s plan to make the US economy much more energy efficient and to create jobs from technology developed to minimise the US’s impact on climate change creates a very exciting opportunity for the AEA Group.”
Unviling its finacial results for the year ended March 31, AEA revealed it made a pre-tax profit of £7.5m, down from £8m the previous year.
Management say the company is well positioned for growth with a strong order pipeline and a new deal agreed with pension fund trustees.
