A MAJOR Oxford service station will be closed until July while construction work on a Marks & Spencer food outlet is carried out.
The BP garage on at the Wolvercote Roundabout on Woodstock Road, will not re-open until July 21 as the £850,000 scheme is completed.
The original store is being knocked down and re-built as a Marks & Spencer Simply Food outlet with about ten new jobs being created.
It will offer ready meals, sandwiches, wine, flowers, fresh produce and basic groceries and will be open 24 hours a day.
BP spokesman Mark Salt said: “This is a very busy store already and we hope our customers enjoy the greatly enhanced offer heading their way this summer.”
The move follows the opening of the country’s first Waitrose service station store at Junction eight of the M40 near Wheatley earlier this month.
