BOSSES of four Oxfordshire businesses will attend a reception given by the Queen at Buckingham Palace as winners of Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2009.
The winners, all from the international trade section of the awards, are:
Integration Technology, of Upper Heyford, employs 40 people at Heyford Park and 10 more abroad. MD Adrian Lockwood, said: “It’s tremendously uplifting and morale boosting to win. Meech International, of Witney, employs 28 people in Witney, and 17 worldwide. Business development director Steve Pheasant, said: “To use a sporting analogy, it’s like winning the Premier League.”
It is an old-established electrical engineering business which has moved into the modern world of electrostatics (the science of static electricity).
Norbar Torque Tools, of Banbury, employs 200 people in Banbury and 80 abroad.
Sales and marketing director Philip Brodey said: “Our grandfather realised back in 1942 that the nation at war was importing torque equipment and started manufacturing it here.”

And Flare Solutions, of Wallingford, which provides geological information to oil companies, won an award for innovation.
