The boss of a Kidlington IT company is gearing up to take part in a major African challenge.

Graham Mclean, managing director of Kidlington-based CI-Net, is hoping to raise £10,000 for charity when he embarks on the Enduro Africa off road rally through South Africa's Wild Coast.

The endurance test will involve riding a motorcycle approximately 200 miles a day through rugged terrain taking in rivers, gorges and nature reserves.

Mr Mclean, 46, said: "It's going to be the adventure of a lifetime.

"I have never been to Africa but this trip will allow me to really experience a part of the continent, including seeing first hand some of the poverty stricken areas the Enduro tour has been organised to help."

The challenge starts in Durban, where he will team up with his Honda CTX motorbike and make his way across the country to the final destination of Port Elizabeth.

The cash raised by Enduro Africa will go to UNICEF, Sentebale — The Princes' Fund for Lesotho and the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, all of which are helping tackle the HIV epidemic in South Africa and Lesotho.
