A company specialising in solar garden products has unveiled a shining set of financial figures.
Bosses at Smart Solar, based at Worton Park near Cassington, say 2007 was a record year for the company with turnover rising by 38 per cent to more than £10m and a pre-tax profit of £320,000, a rise of 145 per cent on the previous year.
Sales to garden centres increased by 80 per cent, reflecting the increasing demand for products powered by renewable energy.
Chief executive Jonathan Stobart said: "We are delighted with these results which reflect our continued belief of investing in high quality products supported by excellent customer service.
"We constantly seek new, innovative and practical ways to utilise solar technology with products designed to enhance gardens. "
The firm was started five years ago and exports products such as lighting and pond pumps to the United States, Germany and France as well as supplying DIY retailers throughout the UK.
It moved to its offices in Worton Park in July 2006 and employs 15 staff.
