FOR the first time in over a year, Covid restrictions will be lifted today.
The country woke-up to so-called 'Freedom Day' this morning as most mandatory lockdown restrctions in England ended at one minute past midnight.
These are the changes in England taking place today:
- No limits on how many people can meet or attend attend events
- 1-m plus social distancing guidelines can end in most settings
- Face coverings no longer required by law, but are still recommended in crowaded and enclosed spaces
- No limits on care home visitors
- Pubs and restaurants do not have to offer table service
- Nightclubs can reopen
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged caution as the restrictions ease.
