First Turn Bridge, Wolvercote, Oxford - Notice of Temporary Stopping up of Streets under Clause 10 and Schedule 5

TRANSPORT AND WORKS ACT 1992
The Chiltern Railways (Bicester to Oxford Improvements) Order 2012

TWA Order made: 23 October 2012 Came into Force: 13 November 2012

First Turn Bridge, Wolvercote, Oxford
Notice of Temporary Stopping up of Streets under Clause 10 and Schedule 5.
Sunday 15 February to Sunday 29 November 2015

The Order provides for various works to create a new railway route between Oxford and London Marylebone including remedial works to First Turn bridge in North Oxford.

Under the powers included in Clause 10 and Schedule 5 of the Order the original road closure notice was published in the Oxford Times on 13th November 2014. This envisaged that First Turn bridge would be closed to all public use between Woodstock Road and Mere Road (save for access to residential frontages) from Sunday 24 January 2015 until Sunday 22nd November 2015

However in response to representations an additional pedestrian diversion bridge will be installed and maintained
for most of the construction works which will now take place between Sunday 15 February 2015 and Sunday 29 November 2015.

There is also an alternative pedestrian and vehicle route to that across First Turn bridge via Mere Road, Godstow Road, Wolvercote roundabout and A4144 Woodstock Road and vice versa.

Copies of the notice and a plan indicating the extent of this temporary closure may be obtained from the East West Rail website at:-http://bicestertooxfordcollaboration.com/
